G.O.Ms.No.1415 dt:10.06.1968 - Family Planning Leaves

Based on G.O.Ms.No. 1415 Health, the Government of Andhra Pradesh provides special casual leave for employees undergoing sterilization operations under the Family Planning Programme:

  • Male Employees (Vasectomy): Special casual leave is granted for a period not exceeding six working days.
  • Female Employees (Salpingectomy/Tubectomy):
    • For sterilization operations, special casual leave is granted for a period not exceeding six working days.
    • For non-puerperal sterilization operations, special casual leave is granted for a period not exceeding 14 days.
  • Timing and Documentation:
    • The leave is counted starting from the day of the operation.
    • For tubectomy operations, a certificate from the Medical Officer who performed the procedure must be submitted to the employee's office within one week after the special casual leave expires.
  • Eligibility: These benefits apply to employees of local bodies, the Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad, the Housing Board, statutory bodies, and undertakings under state administrative control.
  • Retroactivity: Cases decided prior to the issuance of this order (dated June 10, 1968) will not be reopened.
