Based on G.O.Ms.No. 152 from the Finance (FR.I) Department dated May 4, 2010, the following details pertain to the enhancement of maternity leave for married women government servants in Andhra Pradesh:
*Leave Enhancement: Maternity leave for married women employees of the State Government is enhanced from 120 days to 180 days.
* Eligibility Condition: This leave is available on full pay but is subject to the condition that it is granted only to those with less than two surviving children.
* Basis for Change: The enhancement was recommended by the Ninth Pay Revision Commission (PRC 2010) to bring state employees on par with Government of India employees.
* Implementation Rules:
* The orders came into force with immediate effect (May 4, 2010).
* Employees currently availing 120 days of maternity leave on the date of the order could continue until they reached 180 days.
* Employees who had already completed 120 days and were on another type of leave, or those who had already joined duty after completing 120 days, were not eligible for this benefit.
